April 8, 2008

Sheriff WILLIAM P. MULLEN announces that apprehension of Shawon Marshman, 38 years old, from the East Liberty area of the City of Pittsburgh. Marshman was wanted on a Criminal Bench Warrant that was issued in March of 2008 for Probation/Parole Violation.  The original charges were Indecent Assault on persons less than 13 yrs of age, Corruption of Minors, and Endangering The Welfare of Children.

Allegheny County Sheriff William Mullen credits a partnership with Comcast to track down the county's 10 most wanted fugitives.

A viewer of "Fugitive Files on Demand" that features photographs and descriptions of the most wanted fugitives, telephoned a “tip” to a Sheriffs’ Deputy. The viewers “tip” led Sheriffs’ Deputies to Broad Street in East Liberty.  Today at 11:35a.m. these deputies did observe Marshman standing on the sidewalk in close proximity to where the viewer stated he would be.

The Partnership between the Allegheny County Sheriffs’ Office and Comcast started a few weeks ago and it is already producing results. This is the third arrest resulting from this project in less than three weeks. The program is available to all Comcast On-Demand customers with just a click of their remote.

Marshman was taken to the Allegheny County Jail where he will be held with out bond until such time he is brought before the court to answer to these charges. Marshman will also be charged with Failure to Comply with Registration of Sexual Offenders and will be arraigned this evening at Night Court on this charge.
