FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 9, 2008

Sheriff WILLIAM P. MULLEN announces the apprehension of Sean Eberhardt, 33 years old, from the West End area of the City of Pittsburgh.  Eberhardt was wanted on a Criminal Bench Warrant that was issued in March of 2008 for Bond Forfeiture at Trail.  The original charges were Indecent Deviant Sexual Intercourse on persons less that 16 years of age, Statutory Sexual Adult, Endangering Welfare of Children, Corruption of Minors and Indecent Assault on persons less than 16 years of age.

Sheriff Mullen credits a partnership with Comcast's cable television program "Fugitive Files on Demand" which features photographs and descriptions of Allegheny Counties most wanted fugitives.  A viewer of that program telephoned a "tip" to a detective in the Sheriff's Office.  The viewers "tip" led Sheriff's Detectives to a residence on Steuben Street in the West End.  Today at 0700 hours, detectives were able to grain entry into an apartment and apprehend Eberhardt.

The partnership between the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office and Comcast started a few weeks and it is already producing results.  This is the fourth arrest resulting from this project in less than three weeks.  The program is available to all Comcast On-Demand customers with just a click of their remote.

Eberhardt was taken to the Allegheny County Jail where he will be held without bond until such time he is brought before the court to answer these charges.
