Sheriff WILLIAM P. MULLEN announces that apprehension of William Lowe, 36 years old, from the Homewood section of the City of Pittsburgh. Lowe was wanted on two Criminal Bench Warrants that were issued in March of 2008 for Bond Forfeiture at Pre-Trial and Formal Arraignment.  The original charges were Aggravated Assault, Escape, Resisting Arrest Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Theft By Unlawful Taking, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Allegheny County Sheriff William Mullen credits a partnership with Comcast to track down the county's 10 most wanted fugitives.

A viewer of "Fugitive Files on Demand" that features photographs and descriptions of the most wanted fugitives, telephoned a “tip” to a Sheriffs’ Deputy. The viewers “tip” led Sheriffs’ Deputies to Homewood.  Today at 10:30 a.m. deputies did observe Lowe standing on Kelly Street.  Lowe led deputies on a foot pursuit through back yards and he was apprehended on Forest Way.

Lowe will be arraigned on new charges of Aggravated Assault on a Deputy Sheriff, and Resisting Arrest in connection with the arrest today.

Lowe was taken to the Allegheny County Jail where he will be held with out bond until such time he is brought before the court to answer to these charges.   For further information please contact Sheriff Mullen at (412) 350-4711.
