Sheriff WILLIAM P. MULLEN announces the arrest of Thomas Damarko, 33 years old, from the Carrick area of the City of Pittsburgh. Damarko was being sought on a warrant filed by the Pittsburgh Public School Police. These charges stem from an incident that occurred on a school bus on 10/23/07. During the alleged incident Damarko is accused of entering a bus and assaulting a five ear old child. The victim alleged to have teased Damarko’s child and made her cry. According to the warrant, Damarko entered the school bus at the intersection of Brownsville Road and McKinley Street and punched the victim three to four times in the chest with a closed fist. Due to the severity of these charges, Damarko was featured on Comcast On-Demand as one of Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office 20 Most Wanted.
This morning at approximately 12:15 AM, Damarko surrendered to Sheriff’s deputies reporting to their office. Damarko told the deputies that he surrendered because a friend of hid told him he was being featured on Comcast Fugitive Files and contacted him. Damarko told these deputies that he thought it would be better to turn himself in then have people calling the Sheriff’s Office and tell the police where he was.
Damarko is being charged with Unauthorized School Bus Entry and Simple Assault-Victim Under 12-Defendant 21 or Older. Damarko will be held in the Allegheny County Jail without bond until such time that he is brought before the Court of Common Please to answer these charges
