Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Vicky Popoleo, 45 years of age from the Hazelwood section of the City of Pittsburgh. Popoleo was wanted on a Criminal Bench Warrant that was issued after she failed to appear for court on the original charges of BURGLARY, THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY, CRIMINAL TRESSPASSING, HARASSMENT and STALKING. Popoleo had been placed on the Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” list and was recently featured on the Comcast Fugitive Files program.
On Friday, October 3, 2008, Detectives from the Investigations Division of the Sheriff’s Office, received a “Telephone Tip” from a Comcast viewer who provided information that led Detectives to a residence where Popoleo had been intermittently staying. Detectives immediately followed up on the lead and found Pololeo standing on the front porch. She was quickly apprehended and transported to the Allegheny County Jail where she will be detained to await her hearing.
Once again, the arrest of another “Most Wanted” fugitive can be directly attributed to the partnership between the Sheriff’s Office, Comcast and an alert cable T.V. viewer.
