Furnished in testament of his outstanding efforts leading to the arrest of two local drug dealers responsible for the preponderance of heroin overdoses occurring in the Mon Valley section of Allegheny County.

On March 2, 2016, intelligence was received that an unknown female subject had fatally overdosed on heroin in North Versailles, PA.  Detectives Barrett and Hensell interviewed the informant, who identified Jordan Brown as the supplier.  It was determined that Barrett still had an open case on Brown.  Shortly thereafter, Braddock Police reported an additional non-fatal heroin overdose and Detectives reported to UPMC McKeesport Hospital to interview the victim.  The victim identified the supplier as an unknown black male, referred to as “P”, residing at 1008 4th Street in North Braddock, PA.  The victim also reported that the bags of heroin received from “P” were stamp labeled as “Miller.”  Through his investigation, Detective Barrett could confirm “P” a customer of Jordan Brown.

Surveillance was established at 1008 4th Street and almost immediately, a vehicle pulled up to the residence and a drug deal was completed.  Following the transaction, the vehicle was stopped a short distance from the location and three bundles of heroin marked “Miller” were recovered.  Based on the above information, a search warrant was obtained for the 4th Street address, subsequently identifying Deontae Boyed as “P”.
