A Sheriff's Office Internship provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience for students looking to attain a career in law enforcement. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of local government and prepare them for future law enforcement opportunities.

Depending on the amount of hours required by the institution, Sheriff Mullen asks that each intern spends at least eight (8) hours in each of the following divisions: Administration, Courts (Civil, Criminal, Family, Juvenile & Municipal), Crime Prevention, Firearms, Investigations, Real Estate (Civil Process, Writ Service, Sheriff Sale), Warrant Execution and Warrant Office.

At the beginning and end of the internship, Sheriff Mullen sits down with each intern to discuss their expectations of the internship as well as what they have learned during their experience.
