The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office is committed to assisting residents facing mortgage foreclosure with the development of the following programs under the direction of Sheriff Mullen:
MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM – an initiative, in cooperation with the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, that provides a 90-day stay of Sheriff Sale proceedings for County residents who agree to attend counseling and a conciliation process with the lender. Eligibility for the program is determined by a housing counselor, who will work with you FREE OF CHARGE to facilitate a court-supervised conference with the lender. To reach the "Save Your Home" Hotline, please call 1-866-298-8020.
MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE HOTLINE – a resource initiated by the Sheriff’s Office to provide citizens whose property is listed for Sheriff Sale with information regarding their specific case. Callers will also have the opportunity to learn about local relief organizations. Please remember that hotline operators are prohibited from offering any legal advice. The hotline is available Monday through Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. and from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. To reach the "Mortgage Foreslosure" Hotline, please call 412-350-4704.
