PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Donald Lee Johnson, 28 years old, form McKees Rocks. Johnson was wanted on three separate warrants. In the first case Johnson is accused of breaking in to an apartment located in the 2100 block of Brownsville Road. During this crime it is alleged that Johnson and three unidentified males portrayed themselves as plainclothes officers and were conducting a drug raid. Johnson and the three others allegedly handcuffed four victims and stole approximately 3,000 dollars, camcorders, and a digital camera. Johnson was the only person charged so far in this crime. He is charged with four counts of Robbery, Burglary, four counts of Impersonating a Public Servant, three counts of false Imprisonment, and Unlawful Restraint. The second warrant is for a Violation of Probation/Parole. This case is from a prior firearm and drug conviction. Johnson was recently sentenced to the Renewal Center on that case and escaped from there on or around December 9, 2009. The final warrant is the new escape charges for Johnson leaving the Renewal Center.

This week Sheriff’s Deputies added Johnson to the “Most Wanted” website and were working very diligently in an effort to apprehend Johnson. During the course of this investigation deputies also arrested Johnson’s brother in law named Lamar Thompkins, 35 years old, from Coraopolis. Thomkins was wanted for failing to appear in court on a child support case. This evening Johnson did surrender himself to Sheriff’s Deputies in the Municipal Court Complex located on First Avenue in Downtown.

Johnson will be arraigned on the escape charge sometime in the morning and will then be held without bond on the remaining two warrants in the Allegheny County Jail. Thompkins is also being currently held in the county jail and should be seen sometime tomorrow by a Family Court Judge.
