PITTSBURGH, PA –Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Matthew Graner, 22 years of age, of Ross Township.  Graner was wanted on a county bench warrant including two charges of Indecent Assault – Without the Consent of Others.

The charges stem from four different incidents occurring between a seven-week period of time in March and April of 2010.  It is alleged that Graner, then an employee of Wendy’s, had attempted to sexually assault two coworkers on multiple occasions, both at work and in social settings.  After the victims described Graner’s actions to law enforcement, Graner was charged with Indecent Assault.  Graner eventually was apprehended and spent time in the Allegheny County Jail.  Upon release, Graner was placed on probation for an undisclosed amount of time.

After nearly a year on probation, Graner had tested positive for benzodiazepines, marijuana and cocaine.  Furthermore, Graner’s probation officer could no longer make contact with him and believed he was no longer living at his registered address.  Due to the test results and lack of contact, Graner’s probation was violated and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Since the issuance of Graner’s warrant in late September, he has been sought by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office as a “Most Wanted” Fugitive due to the nature of his crimes.  In turn, he was placed on the Sheriff’s Office website, along with Comcast’s “Fugitive Files” On-Demand program.

This morning, sheriff’s deputies received a phone call from a Comcast viewer stating that they knew the whereabouts of Matthew Graner, who was featured on the “Fugitive Files” On-Demand program.  The caller explained that Graner had been seen walking into a building minutes prior to the call.  Deputies rushed to the location, which was in the 1700 block of Metropolitan Street in Northside. Soon after setting up surveillance, a man matching Graner’s description was seen leaving the premises.  Deputies quickly surrounded the fugitive and apprehended him without incident.  Furthermore, Graner was lodged at the Allegheny County Jail, where he will be held without bond.
