PITTSBURGH, PA – A Deputy Sheriff was injured today while attempting to arrest an actor following his appearance in court.  At approximately 11:44 hours, Desmond Jeray Clayton, 26 years old, appeared before Criminal Court Judge Kathleen Durkin for charges of Postal Forgery.  The Judge subsequently revoked Clayton’s bond on the case for failing to be at his scheduled hearing on time.  As Deputy Sheriffs were processing the actor, he started resisting their efforts to search his clothing.  Deputy Sheriffs perceived that Clayton was trying to retrieve a weapon, when he attempted to make a furtive movement into his sock. Deputies recovered suspected marijuana that was hidden in that article of clothing.   Clayton was transported to the Allegheny County Jail without further incident and is being charged with Resisting Arrest, Possession, and Contraband.  The Deputy Sheriff was treated for injuries at UPMC Mercy Hospital and released.
