PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of David Edward Kacprzyk, 33 years old, of the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh.  Kacprzyk was wanted for violating the conditions of his probation/parole stemming from a 2009 arrest for Sexual Abuse of Children-Possession of Child Pornography. As a condition of his probation/parole, Kacprzyk is not permitted to have access to the internet.  Kacprzyk’s probation officer found him to be in possession of a device which gave him access to the Internet and notified the judge in this matter. Kacprzyk was ordered to surrender all electronic devices yesterday and he failed to comply wth this order.  In turn, a warrant was issued for his arrest and sheriff’s deputies began searching for him immediately.

Upon arrival at Kacprzyk’s residence, his parents told deputies that he had left the Pittsburgh area and was going to be working in Erie, Pennsylvania for the remainder of the week. Deputies were soon able to determine that Kacprzyk had not only rented a vehicle, but that he was still in the Pittsburgh area.  Deputies searched throughout the evening, but were unable to locate him.

This morning, deputies began their search again, which eventually led them back to Kacprzyk’s residence located in the 300 block of Main Street.  Deputies learned that Kacprzyk had returned the rental car earlier this afternoon and had planned to return to his house, gather his belongings and leave Pittsburgh.  This afternoon while Kacprzyk’s house was under surveillance by deputies, they observed him walking on the street oustide of his home.  He was immediately apprehended once he entered the house. Once inside his residence, deputies observed Kacprzyk’s suitcases packed and his passport lying next to them.  He was taken to the Allegheny County jail where he will be held without bond.
