PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Michael Joseph Muschick, 25 years old, from the Northside Area of Pittsburgh.  Muschick was wanted for violating the conditions of his probation/parole. In June 2009, Muschick was charged with thirteen counts of Photograph/Film/Depict On Computer Sex Act-Child. Muschick later pled guilty to the charges and was then placed on probation/parole. Due to the nature of these charges, Muschick is now required to a lifetime registry requirement under Megan’s Law. As a condition of his probation/parole, Muschick is not permitted to have internet access. Muschick’s probation/parole officer was able to determine that Muschick was violating that condition and notified the court, which then issued a bench warrant today.

This afternoon, deputies went to the address that Muschick has listed under his sexual offender requirements. Upon arrival, deputies learned that although Muschick does reside there, he was not currently home. Deputies discovered that Muschick was possibly at a residence located on Bascom Avenue also in Northside. Immediately thereafter, deputies went to this location to apprehend Muschick, but he was attempting to pretend that the house was unoccupied by refusing to answer the door. As deputies made it apparent that they were going to enter the house by force, Muschick did announce he was inside and then opened the door. He was apprehended without further incident and is now lodged at the Allegheny County Jail, where he will be held without bond.
