PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Derron Antwan Green, 29 years old, from the Northside section of Pittsburgh. Green was wanted for failing to stay in court today where he was scheduled to go on trial for Aggravated Indecent Assault Without Consent of Others, Aggravated Indecent Assault Person Less that 16, Unlawful Contact with a Minor-Sexual Offenses, Corruption of Minors and two counts of Indecent Assault Person Less Than 16 Years of Age. Green was originally charged in this crime in July of 2011 and has been free on bond since he was arrested. The victim in this alleged crime was 13 years old at the time. Today, Green appeared in court and, while discussing his case with his lawyer, he left the courthouse before his case was called for trial. A bench warrant was then issued for his arrest this morning.
This afternoon, sheriff’s deputies started an investigation to locate Green. Deputies quickly developed leads and searched several residences throughout the City of Pittsburgh and McKees Rocks. Deputies then learned that Green was now possibly at a residence in Braddock. Deputies along with officers from Braddock Borough went to a house located in the 500 block of Center Street. Once this house was surrounded officers were able to see Green inside. They knocked on the door and announced their presence and quickly apprehended Green without incident at approximately 11 o’clock this evening. Green is now being held in the Allegheny County jail where he will be held without bond until his trial.
