PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Robert Ryderenski, 34 years of age from the Mt. Oliver neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh.
Ryderenski was wanted on a criminal bench warrant stemming from an incident that occurred in December 2011. In this alleged incident, Ryderenski’s girlfriend claims that the two got into a verbal altercation while leaving a holiday party to head home. The altercation turned physical once the two made it home where the victim claims that she was punched and choked. A warrant for Ryderenski’s arrest was issued soon thereafter for Simple Assault, Robbery – Take Property For Other/Force, Theft By Unlawful Taking and Criminal Mischief – Damage Property With Intent. Ryderenski was apprehended on January 5, 2012 and released a week later after posting bond. In early June 2012, Ryderenski failed to appear for his hearing, in turn forfeiting his bond and a bench warrant was issued on the same day. Due to the violent charges of this crime, Ryderenski was placed on the Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” website.
This morning, sheriff’s deputies developed information that Ryderenski was staying with a new companion in Brentwood Borough. After gathering this information it was believed this address was within the 3100 block of Schieck Street. Deputies announced themselves at the home and made entry, which resulted in Ryderenski's apprehension without incident. The fugitive was transported to Allegheny County, where he will be held without bond.
