PITTSBURGH, PA - (PITTSBURGH, PA) – Chaz Murray, 30, of the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh was arrested by deputy sheriffs this morning in Beltzhoover. One of Allegheny County’s Most Wanted Fugitives, Murray was sought on a bench warrant issued June 10, 2015 for violating his probation on possession of firearms prohibited and firearms not to be carried without a license charges.

The indictments stem from an incident that occurred April 24, 2009, when Pittsburgh police officers encountered Murray walking in the Manchester neighborhood of the city. Although Murray told authorities he was unarmed, police recovered a loaded, .44 caliber revolver from one of the actor’s pants pockets. Murray did not have a license to carry firearms, nor was there registry of gun ownership. Police subsequently discovered Murray pled guilty to robbery in 2005, a conviction prohibiting him from possessing a gun under the Uniform Firearms Act.

An anonymous citizen who visited the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office recently contacted deputies after seeing Murray featured as a Most Wanted Fugitive for firearm-related crimes. Intelligence was provided leading deputies to a residence located in the 400 block of Allen Street, where they encountered the actor and took him into custody without incident at 11:55 a.m. today. Murray was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
