DEPUTIES ROUND UP TWENTY-FOUR FUGITIVES IN
WARRANT SWEEP OF CITY'S SOUTHERN NEIGHBORHOODS

PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of 24 individuals this morning and afternoon in a warrant sweep of the 15210 zip code, which inhabits the southern neighborhoods of the City of Pittsburgh.

While saturating the Allentown, Arlington, Beltzhoover, Bon Air, Carrick, Knoxville and Mt. Oliver neighborhoods, deputies were able to apprehend a wide array of fugitives including the charges of Robbery, Theft, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Failure to Comply with Registration of Sexual Offender and twelve non-support offenders.

In addition to the warrant arrests, an individual was arrested and found to be in possession of evidence related to a burglary, which happened yesterday morning.  Also, deputies obtained a search warrant for a wanted individual’s residence and seized three shotguns, one of which was sawed-off.

Over the last year, the Sheriff’s Office has been involved in three warrant sweeps in the Mon Valley and South Pittsburgh neighborhoods totaling nearly sixty fugitive arrests.  Sheriff Mullen will remain dedicated in having the Sheriff's Office provide assistance to communities with significant amount of county bench warrants.
