SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES ARREST
30 FUGITIVES IN WARRANT SWEEP

PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff’s deputies, in conjunction with the F.B.I. Pittsburgh Field Office, apprehended 30 fugitives today during a warrant sweep operation targeting wanted individuals in various Allegheny County boroughs.  The arrested fugitives were sought on various charges including Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, DUI, Escape and Terroristic Threats.  In addition, 14 actors were apprehended on Allegheny County Family Division warrants. 

While searching a residence, deputy sheriffs encountered Tejhon Taylor, 19, who was wanted by the Pittsburgh Police on Assault (two counts), Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Fleeing an Officer (two counts) charges.  Taylor was subsequently taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.  Also arrested was fugitive Kenneth Dade, 21, for firearms violations and James Martin, 30, who was sought on a high-priority Family Division warrant. 

At the onset of the round-up, deputies received an anonymous tip concerning the whereabouts of Devaughn Sanford, 31, who was on the Sheriff’s Office’s firearms fugitives list.  Intelligence provided stated the actor was at an address in Toledo, Ohio.  Deputies made contact with the Toledo Police Department and Sanford was taken into custody. He will be extradited to Allegheny County.

In addition to the warrant arrests, six firearms were recovered. The Braddock, North Braddock, Rankin, East Pittsburgh, Pitcairn, Turtle Creek, Wilmerding and Swissvale communities were visited during the round-up. Local police assisted deputies and federal agents at each location.
