PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff’s deputies apprehended Jesse Snodgrass, 31 years of age, from Northside on a Family Division warrant for child support. When deputies made contact with Snodgrass, who was sleeping on a couch, they observed a fully loaded Ruger .22 automatic pistol lying on the coffee table next to him. Snodgrass is a convicted felon which makes him unable to possess a firearm. Therefore, deputies have charged Snodgrass with person not to possess firearm, in addition to lodging him on his family division case.
A few hours later, deputies received a tip in regards to Vondae Freeman, 30 years old, from the Hill District section of Pittsburgh. Freeman was wanted by West Mifflin Police on the charge of terroristic threats. This information led deputies to a house located in the 700 block of Morgan Street, also in the Hill District.
Once in the residence, deputies located Freeman walking out of a second story bedroom. Freeman was taken into custody without incident. While searching the residence for additional occupants, deputies observed two firearms and ammunition. One was a Bryco Arms 9mm fully loaded and the other was a PW Arms 91/30 Long Rifle. Deputies also located Anthony Ottison, 53 years old. Both men are not permitted to possess firearms. Freeman because he is a fugitive and Ottison because he is a convicted felon.
Both were taken to Allegheny County Jail where they will be arraigned on new charges stemming from the firearms. Freeman will also be arraigned on the original warrant.
