PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff Mullen announces the apprehension of Antonyo Jones, 33, of Clairton and Cheronda Booker, 28, of Clairton.
Early this morning detectives with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office attempted to execute a criminal bench warrant in the 400-block of Waddell Avenue for Antonyo Jones relating to charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute. Detectives were met at the door by Cheronda Booker who allowed detectives into the residence to look for Jones. While performing a safety sweep of the apartment, detectives spotted a loaded .30 caliber bolt action rifle, a box of ammunition, and a shopping bag containing multiple ink stampers, a cardboard stamp bag box and a large number of unstamped empty stamp bags, all in plain view.
Detectives learned Jones may have fled from the apartment to the basement and K9 Nico was deployed to search. In the course of searching the basement for Jones, detectives found knotted individual plastic bags of marijuana and numerous empty and unstamped stamp bags scattered about the floor. Eventually, detectives located Jones curled up in a window well, hiding under a metal grate. Detectives also found a large knotted plastic bag of suspected raw heroin inside the window well with Jones.
Due to the amount of illegal substances in plain view, deputies obtained a search warrant where they ended up seizing the aforementioned items, as well as three cellphones, a purse containing marijuana and US currency.
Jones and Booker were transported to the Allegheny County Jail. While Jones was lodged on a criminal bench warrant, both actors are facing new charges including: Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I-IV, Prohibited Acts, and Possession. Because Jones and Booker are convicted felons not to possess any weapons, they will also face firearms charges.
