After his arrest Goldberg ultimately pled guilty to Indecent Assault of a Person Less Than 13 Years of Age and his sentence included being registered as a “Tier Three” Sexual Offender under Megan’s Law, which comes with a lifetime registration requirement. On February 24, 2017, a bench warrant was issued out of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas for Goldberg, for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of his probation/parole due to the new charges. Allegheny County Sheriff’s Deputies have been searching for both since the issuance of the warrants.
Sheriff’s deputies checked numerous locations throughout Westmoreland County for Knight, but were unable to initially locate him. During the investigation, deputies developed information that sometime in the late evening or early morning hours, Knight would be meeting with a third party around Route 119 in Youngwood. Deputies conducted surveillance for several hours and observed Knight pulling into a gas station nearby. Deputies immediately apprehended Knight without incident.
Deputies had also been searching for Goldberg since the issuance of his warrants. Goldberg had previously registered with Megan’s Law as homeless and gave his frequented area as the Oakland section of the City of Pittsburgh. Through conducting interviews, deputies developed information that Goldberg also was known to frequent the Downtown business section of the City of Pittsburgh. Deputies continued to search for Goldberg between the Oakland and Downtown sections of the City of Pittsburgh, and ultimately located him walking on the sidewalk in the 300 block of 6th Avenue on the afternoon of February 26. Deputies immediately apprehended Goldberg without incident.
Knight and Goldberg were both lodged in the Allegheny County Jail without bond until they are brought before the court.
