Forfeitures – Failed Sheriff’s Sale Purchases
A Forfeiture Sale occurs when a parcel of property that was scheduled for and sold at the regularly monthly scheduled Sheriff Sale of Real Property, was purchased by an individual who failed to pay the balance of their bid on or before the deadline to pay. All Sheriff Sale properties must be paid in full by 10:00AM on Monday of the week following the date that the Sheriff Sale took place. If this does not occur, the property is forfeited and will be put up for sale again.
Therefore, all deposits are forfeited, and the property is relisted to be sold at the next monthly scheduled sale.
